Membership in Illustrators North is available to independent professional illustrators who are residents of Northern Ireland by completing our application form, which opens yearly.

To be considered for membership an applicant must have an established and ongoing professional illustration practice and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience. 

For Commercial Illustrators you must have at minimum at least 6 commercially published pieces. 

For Children’s Book Illustrators you must have at least one traditionally published book. 

To demonstrate your suitability for membership of Illustrators North we are asking potential members to submit the following:

• Applicants for Commercial Illustration must submit 10 recent samples of work, at least 6 of which must have been published with a commercial fee paid for their usage.
• Applicants for Children’s Book Illustration must submit 4 samples of their published book, please include the publisher and the year of publication. Plus 6 other illustrations based on their practice. 
• Applicants must agree to contribute to efforts of sustaining and developing Illustrators North.

The membership fee to be part of Illustrators North is £120 per year.
